About The Event

This workshop will provide participants with an introduction to working clinically with clients who identify as polyamorous/non-monogamous. Learning objectives will focus on three different types of learning necessary to build confidence in working with this population; the workshop will start with an introduction to basic terminology and common challenges the community faces, continue with an exercise that encourages internal exploration of feelings/assumptions/biases about this population, and ends with examples/practice of integrating new knowledge with existing skills in a simulated clinical context. The workshop's goal is to increase participant's confidence, knowledge, and applicable skills to aid them in creating a safe space for their diverse clients. ***4 Michigan Social Work and/or 4 AASECT CEU's provided.

Presented by Syre Saniyah, Ph.D, LP and S. M. Fitzgerald, LMSW, CST
